Our Community Centre is based in the small market town of Wisbech situated
in the heart of the Fenland region of East Anglia.
Opened by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal the centre has been
supporting the people of North Wisbech for over 30 years. The new Centre
was built as a result of more than three years work by a group of local
residents following a feasibility study which found that a new centre
would be more appropriate than refurbishing the old building.
The new building was opened in early 2005 and offers five key services;
children’s nursery, health clinic, business conference facility,
family learning and community centre.
The Centre is owned and run by the Wisbech Community Development Trust
which is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. The
Trust is currently made up of nine local residents/ users and four representatives
from public and private organisations.
Having served the community for over 30 years the Centre prides itself
on being run by local people who understand the needs of their community.
Their vision is to provide support and activities that encompass all
age groups, abilities, interests and needs of the local people.
 Coming to the Oasis on Saturday 14th of March 10am to 2pm.
A fun and interesting day for all the family, there will be games, music and art! Plus lots of different kinds of food from a diverse range of countries. The event is inspired by the Jamie Oliver's, "Pass it on" idea from the television.
New Trust Chair person Steve Cawthorne
Steve has taken over from David Wheeler as the Oasis Centres Chair Person. We look forward to working with Steve in the New Year. Steve has been a member of the trust for a while and this is his first time as the Chair. We are also delighted to welcome Joan Gallagher as a trust member who you may remember starred in our Talent contest and also Judged the event itself. She provided the warm up act with a bed of Nails routine! to the amusement of the audience.
