What people think of the Oasis.

To demonstrate the change the Oasis Centre has gone through ,we spoke to a few of our regular visitors. Dennis Hutchingson said, “The centre has definitely improved over the past 3 years and the atmosphere in the centre is brilliant, all the staff are friendly and welcoming and since Chris and Nik started working there they have made a big difference to the overall centre and new activities. We especially enjoy the Bingo and indoor kurling.”

Lynne Hayden from Age Concern who uses the centre three days a week said “Speaking on behalf of myself, my staff & the service users, I wish to say a big thank you to all the staff at the Oasis Community & Childrens Centre. We have been supported 100% from day one. The disabled access & facilities are excellent. We have been made to feel welcome & the older people are made to feel part of the community.

Natalie Smith pictured on the right and Dawn Smith (no relation) have recently started at the Wisbech Community house. Natalie joined a few months ago and left a managers position at St Mathews homeless hostel. She replaces Carl Suckling who returned to Norfolk County Council. Dawn Smith has been a volunteer at the House for a number of years and decided to start working for the house and has been and continuing to be a positive role model for the community. Natalie pictured on the right said “My goal is to build relationships with the local community I love the way I feel so at home in the community house and enjoy meeting the people that come in”.Community House and the Oasis Centre have many activities on during the summer, starting with health walk starting at the Oasis Centre every Wednesday at 11am for 25 to 60 minutes.

He's a Poet and he does know it!
Local Teenage Poet Josh Pitcher aged 13 is a budding writer. He sent us his latest poem and we are pleased to put it on our resident page.

As the sun shines down on the glistening sea
The birds are chirping and flying with glee
As they fly all around I look to the sky
I see the clouds in the heavens floating on by
The planes fly amongst them, gliding along
I walk along the shore whistling a song
As the sun sets down in the glowing red sky
This is the best day of all that’s just gone by

Ring 01945 461526 for details or go to our what's on page online at http://www.theoasiscentre.co.uk/

There is also a online service run by the police which is open for people to contact. For more information go to
